Hope’s Bluff investigator Christian Wesson might kill his Chief. Okay, not literally, but he can’t deny his frustration when Frank puts his name in the running for a charity photo shoot in another county. Frank claims he did it because he knew that Wes needed something beyond work to get past the past and move on with life. Frank refused to let Wes bury himself in his work. Wes thinks his life is just fine. Mostly. Regardless, he doesn’t really have a choice about this shoot. Not only would Frank not let him back out, but it’d look bad on the police force, and the surrounding ones, if he did. Fine. He’d go. He just needs to survive it — and all the little old ladies who now want to set him up. Too bad he couldn’t hide.Lily Carmichael has no choice but to be a part of this photoshoot her friend and business partner, Tabbi, put her name in the running for now that it's been announced. It’s attached to the bakery and is going to help an area family who’s lost everything. It’s a wonderful cause, but she also knows how small towns work. If nothing else, she knows that she’s going to end up buried in baked goods and customers. It’s not that those are bad things, but she’ll be baking like crazy to try to keep up. Not to mention, she shudders to think what her family will do when they see the pictures. Especially the ones of them kissing. She’d just gotten her mom to stop trying to set her up. She hates to think about how she could end up with more than just a line of customers once word spreads through her small town of Loveland. Who needs sleep anyway?When Lily’s fears come true and she feels like she’s drowning, she calls for reinforcements — from the one person who might understand. Thankfully, her knight comes to help save her. She can’t help but wonder if Wes could be more than just that. She’s not sure she’ll get the chance to find out though.
