With a highly porous spherical shape, Extrax Phos offers maximum surface area and optimal water flow without clumping or restricting filtration. This unique structure helps promote faster phosphate removal and longer media life. Phosphate levels above 0.05 ppm can affect overall tank clarity and health. Extrax Phos works by trapping reactive phosphate and silicate, helping maintain a balanced, low-nutrient environment. It's especially effective in systems with high feeding rates, large bioloads, or visible nutrient issues. Unlike some traditional phosphate media, Extrax Phos does not crumble, release trapped nutrients, or leach compounds back into the water. Use in a canister filter for active filtration or a 150µm mesh filter bag for passive use. Pre-rinse before first use, and place in an area of medium flow to maximize contact time.
